St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a part-time Dance Instructor Founded in 1978, St. Andrew’s is a co-educational independent day school, enrolling approximately 585 students in preschool-grade 12. The school has two campuses three miles apart. The Potomac Village Campus (preschool-grade 2) is on the grounds of St. Francis Episcopal Church and the 19-acre Postoak Campus (grades 3-12) is on Postoak Road in Potomac. Since 2008 St. Andrew’s has renovated or newly built each of its buildings and outdoor spaces, culminating in the opening of the new 43,000-square-foot Student Center in 2016 on the Postoak Campus. St. Andrew’s has earned international recognition as a destination school for research-informed teaching, learning, and leadership development. Position: St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD seeks a part-time Dance Instructor to lead the Upper School Dance Company in Fall and Spring Trimesters (3:30 - 5:45p Labor Day – Thanksgiving and March 5 – Apr 27). Additional stipended roles are open depending on instructor’s availability: a Winter Middle School Dance Instructor (2:35 - 3:35), and choreographer for the Winter Upper School Musical (3:30 - 5:45p) and Spring Middle School Musical (typically 10:35 - 11:15a three times a week and 11:15a - 1:10p once a week). Qualifications: BA or higher with prior college-level/professional dance performance and/or prior K-12 dance instruction experience preferred. Dynamic instruction and the ability to work effectively as a team member within the Performing Arts department are also essential.
