2019 Festivals: Artistic Opportunities & Creative Engagements

The Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts (BOPA) announces applications are available for its 2019 festivals. Applications are open to visual and performing artists, authors, speakers, exhibitors, businesses, cultural organizations and food vendors.

Each year performing artists and performing artist collectives are sought out to help the festivals come alive by performing their pieces in a unique pop-up and/or strolling setting at Artscape, Baltimore Book Festival and Light City. This year one performing arts application is open for all festivals for the 2019 season.

Performing artists and performing arts collectives including but not limited to genres in dance, theater, magic, music, fashion, storytelling, and poetry will be considered. Pieces should be fresh, creative, family friendly and suitable for outdoor weather. Please note, Light City performing artists must have an illuminated component in their proposal. Performing artists will perform in a pop-up (stationary) or strolling (mobile performance) capacity

Applications open on January 9th and you may apply to all festivals. If you’d like to apply to more than one festival and perform different pieces you must submit separate proposals. For more details on the application process please attend one of our information sessions. The first information session takes place at Motor House on January 24th at 6pm.
